Ah, Music. A magic far beyond all we do here.
This may just be a random quip on my part, but until tonight while sitting and waiting for the words to flow as easily as they have almost every day for the past week I never realized just how sexually charged “Next Go Round” by Nickelback was. Like, I’ve heard the song many times, but I don’t think I ever really listened to the lyrics closely. Obviously, if you look at the radio nowadays – I don’t, mainly because mainstream music, for the most part, SUCKS – that’s what sells. Come on, look at the beginning of “LoveGame” by Lady GaGa:

Really?! As if it isn’t obvious to what a ‘disco stick’ is. UGH! What the hell has music become?! But, for some reason, I don’t mind that Dark Horse is all about sex. It’s kind of funny, but maybe that’s because I’ve always been partial to Nickelback. -shrugs-
Right now I’m focusing more on music than I usually do since, with an extreme lack of something to do during the day (and night, I suppose) I’m starting to make my playlist for my and Jon’s roadtrip to Baltimore. I don’t really have a theme for this playlist like I have the last two I made. Rather, I’m just picking songs that I always seem to almost risk uncertain danger to get to on shuffle. Example: I am absolutely in love with “Three Flights Down” by Yellowcard. And something I never realized until just recently is that it’s even better acoustic. I can’t even describe it – and besides, Hannah could and will always do a better job at describing just how music affects a person: hearing it, feeling it, taking in the true meaning of the lyrics, the environment to which it’s heard, and much more, I’m sure.
Actually, I’m updating this mainly as a self-distraction from NP, but after working diligently for the past five days or so I think I deserve just the slightest of breaks. I’ve written five pages this weekend! (And when I say that, I mean in size-12 Garamond font with justified, one-inch margins) I’ve delved deep within the Demi Saga and grasped the main gist of what I was trying to say at the time. Hey, maybe I’ll even post an excerpt of NP on here so you can see small proof that I’ve been working hard.
Unfortunately, it’ll have to be something kinda-sorta old, but if I’m correct in saying this it’s been quite some time since just about anyone’s read a copy of NP. Hmmm. I’ll get to that probably the next time I want to distract myself, but don’t count on that just yet. I’ll be very busy (for once!) in the next week, something – despite my calm acceptance to my dull existence – I am most keen on getting to. Cheers!
